The Director of Career Services leads Wentworth’s initiatives in career development and planning, including the nationally recognized cooperative education program, graduate and professional school planning, career advising, and job search strategies. The director will develop a robust and strategic employer relations program that develops co-op opportunities, employment opportunities and partnerships with industry. As a member of the division of student affairs the Director articulates a vision for the department, promotes student learning and development and establishes need-based goals and objectives for the department. The Director recruits, retains, supervises and develops staff in the department, manages the department budget and conducts on going assessments and evaluation of staff and programs. The Director partners with institutional academic leadership to integrate the cooperative education program with the curricula and support strategic planning initiatives. The Director is responsible for communicating quantitative and qualitative data for multiple Institute reports for the president, dean of students and the executive team. The Director must act ethically and with a high level of integrity, be able to communicate effectively and collaborate with individuals and organizations both with Wentworth and with partners outside of Wentworth. The Director must be a strategic, transparent team builder, innovative, inspirational, and empowering.
Requirements: Bachelor and Masters degree required. Five - eight years of experience as a leader or manager in higher education or industry. Comprehensive knowledge of career development, trends in career services in higher education and industry trends in architecture, design, engineering, technology, and management.
