Description
- Develop, revise and/or edit syllabi and lesson plans for all SEO ELA courses (Critical Reading, Critical Writing, Grammar and Vocabulary)
- Help support a team of part-time instructors
- Manage online gradebooks
- Recruit, interview, and orient new instructors (including the scheduling and observation of demonstration lessons)
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is committed to the mission of the SEO Scholars Program and has:
- Experience writing and teaching high school English Language Arts curricula
- Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to work independently as well as under supervision
- The ability to prioritize work, set deadlines, and manage projects
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Candidate Requirements:
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English or other related field
- Ability to work 2 Saturdays a month from September to June and some late nights as dictated by programming needs
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
