The HR Analyst Trainee will primarily research Human Resources issues as they arise, recommending modifications to existing procedures to improve internal processes. Responsibilities will heavily involve the auditing of all HR and Payroll transactions. This will include serving as the intermediary between Timekeeping and Payroll staff with regard to the coordination of employee hires, separations, implementation of disciplinary stipulations, and the monitoring of processing fees. S/he will participate in the review and interpretation of OPA Payroll USIs and will work with Payroll staff in the drafting of all correspondence and documents relating to FMLA usage, employee leaves of absences and separations. S/he will be responsible for the supervision and administration of Worker's Compensation claims and Financial Disclosure for the agency. Other responsibilities will also include: Researching and implementing Longevities; assisting with interpreting and implementing Collective Bargaining Agreements; drafting correspondence and documents; and updating and maintaining HR reports and logs. In addition, s/he will manage the administration of special projects and programs as needed.
Minimum Qual Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
- Experience using NYCAPS, PMS, CHRMS preferred. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Strong organizational skills are required. Familiarity with Personnel Services Bulletins (PSB's) and Personnel Rules and Regulations of New York City. Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and process assignments within prescribed deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
