Description
Career Development Center Internship Program
- Work collaboratively with the Academic Internship Program Coordinator to increase the depth and breadth of the Career Development Center Internship Program (CDCI), a high impact learning experience offered to undergraduate students at Binghamton University.
- Develop, coordinate and promote credit earning internships.
- Counsel and advise students about internship opportunities related to their goals/interests.
- Present CDCI information sessions.
- Maintain and enhance internship sites through visits, monitoring the quality of the internships, etc.
Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women (JFEW) - SUNY International Relations and Global Affairs Program
- As the University’s Academic Liaison, work with the Levin Institute, Stony Brook, and SUNY Global Center in all aspects of the JFEW-SUNY Two Year Scholarship Program.
- Organize campus meetings and technical support for video conferencing.
- Support orientation, recruitment and selection of students, maintaining contact with students.
- Develop career content for the second year including the option of receiving academic credit, working with Levin Institute staff on all aspects of program planning and implementation, advocating on behalf of JFEW-SUNY students regarding various aspects of the program.
- Interface with Financial Aid and the Research Foundation to coordinate financial aspects of the program. Complete reports for the funding source.
Sodexo Internship Fund
- Coordinate the marketing, application and selection process for fund which provides monetary support to undergraduate students who are pursuing unpaid summer internships.
- Interface with Financial Aid and the Research Foundation to coordinate the financial aspects of the program. Complete reports for the funding source.
Johnson City Mentor Program
- Coordinate all aspects of the program including recruiting students; developing, scheduling and conducting student orientations and seminars.
- Recruit and orient seminar leaders.
- Interface with JC school district in the overall management of the program.
- Select, train and supervise undergraduate Teaching Assistant.
Assessment
- Assist in planning and implementing program evaluation assessment to include developing, measuring and analyzing student learning outcomes and core competencies.
Qualifications
Masters degree in student personnel, human service or a related area preferred. Knowledge of internship protocols and working with interns preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Solid presentation and public speaking skills. Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with college students, faculty, administrators and employers of all backgrounds. Experience with diverse university student populations preferred.
Strategic planning, analytical/problem-solving, program design and assessment skills. Experience in outreach and building relationships within community and business organizations. Student-centered coupled with a strong customer service orientation. Experience using databases and other technology, particularly Microsoft Office software and Blackboard desired. Ability to work autonomously and as a team member within a collegial setting, demonstrate sound decision making, and complete tasks in a fast paced environment. Tolerance of ambiguity, flexibility, sense of humor.
