The Counseling Center provides free counseling and support services to students that would like to discuss any personal/psychological concerns with a professional counselor. Issues addressed by the Center range from interpersonal issues, family concerns and academic difficulties to problems such as anxiety, depression and addictions.
The Counseling Center will also assist with referrals for students seeking services beyond the scope of on-campus resources. The best way to make an appointment is to call (518) 388-6161 and schedule a meeting with a counselor. Meetings are typically scheduled on weekdays for a one-hour period between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Students may also walk in, but counselors may not always be available.
Due to increased demand, the Counseling Center is moving to a short term treatment approach; offering counseling sessions every 10 days to bi-weekly, rather than weekly. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We can determine if weekly sessions are best for you, and offer you a referral off campus if needed.
