Financial Aid

Financial Aid and Family Financing

At Union, we are committed to meeting your full demonstrated need regardless of your particular economic circumstances. Below is some additional information that demonstrates our commitment to making Union an affordable option for all admitted students:

  • We have a comprehensive aid program that includes more than $80 million in aid from Union's own resources, in addition to aid from federal, state and other agencies.
  • More than $60 million in scholarships and grants are awarded directly from Union each year.
  • Merit awards are offered to top academic candidates ranging from $18,000 to $30,000 per year. A new Quick Estimator Net Price Calculator is designed to help families understand what assistance may be available to them.
  • More than 60 percent of all Union students receive some kind of financial assistance.

Tuition, student fees, housing and a meal plan are $86,049 for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Making U Possible Initiative

Union launched the Making U Possible initiative with the Class of 2024 which expands eligibility to more students who apply for financial aid, but who otherwise would not qualify for need-based aid or would qualify for only minimal amounts.

This initiative aims to address some limitations of the methodologies used to determine need-based aid and to reduce the amount that future students will have to borrow to cover the calculated family expectation as measured through the CSS Profile.

Thanks to Making U Possible, families who have an expected contribution – as measured through the CSS Profile – up to $56,000 (average family income of $100,000) can expect grant and scholarship assistance ranging from $30,000 - $35,000. Families with an expected contribution between $56,000 and $100,000 (incomes as high as $250,000) would be eligible for a minimum of $20,000 - $23,000.

Please note that Union continues to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all students we admit to the College, with that need measured by formulas derived from the CSS Profile. More than 60 percent of our most recent incoming class qualified for need-based scholarship assistance, with an average award of $50,000.

We are excited to offer Making U Possible grants. This additional resource will help students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds afford a Union education.
