Mathematics Department
Description
Union College is seeking applicants for the Brate-Peschel Professorship in Statistics. The appointment can be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. This is an endowed, tenure-track position in the mathematics department starting in September 2012, and it carries with it a competitive starting salary and designated research funds. The normal teaching load at the College is two courses in each of our three 10-week terms, but the Statistics position comes with a one-course reduction (at least until the tenure decision) for advising faculty in other departments on statistical issues. Institutional expectations and support are balanced between teaching and research. Please send a vita, research statement, teaching statement, a summary of recent teaching evaluations, and three letters of reference (one addressing teaching) to the above address. Located in the Capital District of New York State, Union is a highly selective liberal arts college with engineering. Union offers an exceptional benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, a generous retirement plan, and tuition remission.
