Whether you’re an international student enrolled in an exchange program or admitted to Union's full-time undergraduate program, there are many preparations to make before you arrive on campus.
- Visa and immigration: How to apply for your visa
- Making travel plans: How to get to Schenectady, NY
- What to bring: What items should you pack
Although your other responsibilities closely align with those of the U.S. students, please take note:
Orientation
All first year students will participate in the College’s orientation prior to the start of the school year. First year international students also must attend a mandatory pre-orientation.
For the 2013-2014 academic year, the International Pre-Orientation will be held September 3-6. You must arrive on campus on either Sunday, September 1 or Monday, September 2. First year students who have signed up for the Outdoor or Community Service Experience will still be able to attend part of the International pre-orientation
Health Forms
Be sure to complete and mail the medical health form sent by the College prior to your arrival. The return address is: Health Services Office, Silliman Hall, Union College, 807 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308, USA.
Mail
Union's central mailroom is located in the Reamer Campus Center, first floor. The International Support Office will notify all international students of their mailbox number, and the mailroom will supply your mailbox access codes. Your mailbox can be used for first-class mail and packages.
