Winter Term (Odd Years)
Cordoba is the second largest city in Argentina, located in the northern part of the country near the Sierra Chica Mountain Range. Cordoba is a perfect place to learn or improve your Spanish. You will also learn more about yourself and have the opportunity to experience and take advantage of a new culture. Córdoba has developed a well-deserved reputation as an exciting but relaxed atmosphere for intellectual pursuits. Home to some 130,000 students from across the country, the city of Córdoba is known popularly in Argentina as "La Docta", from doctorate, because of its rich academic past. Córdoba today is recognized as a center for arts and learning in Argentina with its many universities, theaters, and museums.
Course of Study
Students will be required to take three courses while in Argentina. One course consists of an intensive language course (two levels) taught at SET Idiomas during January. During February and March students will take a general culture and/or history course taught at PECLA-UNC. In addition to these two courses students will take a course that will be taught by Union's accompanying faculty member.
Proposed field trips include: Alta Gracia, Northern Argentina, la Cumbrecita and Buenos Aires. Students will also take a tango dance course, a hands-on cooking course, see Argentinian films and go to museums.
Pre-requisites
- Successful completion of Advanced Spanish (SPN 203) before the term abroad.
Accommodations
Students will reside in a double room with a host family.

- April: Application deadline is the third Friday of spring term.
- May: Non-refundable deposit due at the Cashier's Office in McKean House, and receipt brought to the International Programs Office
- Fall term: Orientation meetings
- Early January: Program begins
- Late March: Program ends
