The Parent Leadership Committee
Parent volunteers are an invaluable resource to the College. Volunteering for the Parent Leadership Committee puts you in a position to impact your student's experience at Union by providing leadership, feedback and recommendations to the College while promoting Union's mission and engaging with fellow parents.
Please consider joining our team of volunteers, where you will have the satisfaction of being actively involved in your child's college experience.
Parent Leadership Committee consists of three sub-committees:
- Communications
Members can contribute to the monthly e-newsletter that goes out to all Union parents, provide input on direct mail campaigns and sign the letter that goes out to all parents of first-year students in our welcome packet. - Development
After making your gift to the Parent Fund, help us spread the Parent Fund message by encouraging other parents to join you in supporting your children's experience. - Events
Become a representative at campus events such as Homecoming and Family Weekend or Summer Orientation. Consider hosting a Summer Sendoff for returning and incoming students or a regional event for parents and alumni.
For more information on volunteer opportunities, or to suggest other ways to contribute, contact Shelley Friel at (518) 388-6175.
Giving Societies
Alongside alumni and friends of the College, Union parents are recognized for their annual giving through membership in our giving societies.
The Terrace Council
An annual gift of $2,000 or more qualifies you for membership in Union's leadership giving society, the Terrace Council. Privileges of membership include recognition in the annual Report of Donors and other mailings, invitations to special receptions and events both on and off campus, and a special newsletter.
The Waldron Roll
This society consecutive giving by alumni, parents and friends who distinguish themselves through consistent support. Members are those who have made a gift to the College at least two years in a row.
For more information on these societies, please call (518) 388-6175.
