Volunteer and Support
Parent involvement makes a lasting impact on our campus. Here are some of the ways in which parents and family members can get involved with the College:
» Provide career assistance to students.
1) Become part of U-CAN, the Union Career Advisory Network, and discuss your job, company and/or career with interested students. Or come to a campus-scheduled event to network, conduct mock interviews or be part of a career panel. Contact the Becker Career Center at (518) 388-6176 for more information.
2) Does your place of employment offer internship or job opportunities? E-mail Lyndsay Ferguson with the details.
» Represent Union at a college fair.
Share your own insights on the college search process and act as an ambassador for Union with prospective students and their families by attending a local college fair. Contact the Office of Admissions at (518) 388-6112 to find out about upcoming events near you.
» Refer a prospective student.
Spread the word. Do you know a highly qualified high school student who you would like to consider Union? Contact the Office of Admissions at (518) 388-6112 to initiate introductory mailings.
» Reach out to other parents.
Each fall, parent volunteers help put the parents of incoming freshmen at ease on move-in day and answer questions from families during Homecoming and Family Weekend. If you'd like to help out with one of these events or learn about opportunities to host local events in your home, contact Lisa Mason in the Parent Program office at (518) 388-6601.
» Help garner financial support for Union.
Union benefits tremendously from the dedication and commitment of parents who help raise money for the College, either by being a volunteer caller for the Annual Fund or by helping to solicit capital gifts in support of College priorities. To learn more about how you can assist with Union's fundraising efforts, contact Lisa Mason in the Parent Program office at (518) 388-6601.

As an integral part of Union's community, you can show your support for the College in so many ways:
» Attending events, such as Homecoming and Family Weekend and the annual Steinmetz Symposium.
» Cheering on our athletic teams, both at home and away
» Display Union stickers / decals and wear Union clothing
» Make a financial or capital gift to Union's Annual Fund
