Project Description:
My summer research involved examining art works of UC alumni in the Union College Permanent Art Collection. The focus of my project was researching college owned artistic depictions, including, but not limited to, paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs of Union College Alumni. The majority of my research was conducted in Special Collections and in the Union College Archives, as well as the files of the Permanent Collection. The Archives’ files contain letters, newspaper clippings, Union College Press Releases, speeches, pamphlets, and various other primary and secondary sources dating from the nineteenth and twentieth century. This research serves to inform our understanding of the contributions of Union alumni to their college and to their time.
