24-Hour Computer Lab and Study Room
This area offers the software and hardware resources needed for interdisciplinary computational projects and quiet study space. The lab provides a collaborative work space open to students and faculty around the clock.
Electronic Classrooms
Modern electronic classrooms are located on each of the first and second floors and are available for use by faculty throughout the campus who wish to incorporate technology into their lectures and coursework.
Gallery and Display Areas
The gallery and display areas on the ground floor house rotating exhibits from across the campus and around the world. Gallery space is located at the base of the grand staircase and along the corridor between the Wold Center and the Olin Center.
Gramse Courtyard
The courtyard’s central location outside the ground floor main entrance makes it an ideal outdoor venue for a variety of events and gatherings, as well as a stopping point for visitors touring Union’s historic campus.
Grand Staircase
The grand staircase connecting the ground floor to the central atrium is one of the hallmarks of the building’s open floor plan.
MacLean Family Atrium
The atrium lies between the program space in the Wold Center and the F.W. Olin Center. The two levels of the atrium provide a comfortable and lively central meeting area and event venue, including a café. The atrium serves as a crossroads between the Olin Center, the Science and Engineering Building and the rest of the campus. The atrium is also home to the C-Zones, designated by three circles on the floor, that mark the locations of interrelated displays based on a common theme.
Student and Faculty Interaction Areas
Small seating and work areas are scattered throughout each floor of the Wold Center with the intention of providing study and meeting spaces for students and faculty, along with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in an informal setting.
