The President's Report
The President's Report was initiated by President Ainlay in 2007 to provide the Union College community (both on campus and off) with updates on all major areas of campus activity over the prior academic and fiscal year. The first President's Report was published in November, 2007, and covered topics from academics to student life to alumni events and awards, along with important updates on the College's financial position and admissions efforts. The report, featuring photos, vignettes and success stories from all aspects of Union life, has become an annual publication which also helps document Union's progress toward the goals in its Strategic Plan.
President Ainlay was one of the primary proponents of the creation of a Strategic Plan for Union College. The original Plan was adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2007 and revisited in 2012-13 to ensure it remains the roadmap for the College.
Union College is a key contributor to the vitality and economic vibrancy of the City of Schenectady and the entire Capital Region. Almost $300 million in direct spending, employment, construction and student and visitor impact is infused directly into the community each year. But the depth and breadth of our commitment goes much further. The College is a hub of culture, innovation and creativity, fueled by Union students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners.
The Impact Report offers a meaningful snapshot of our contributions – and commitment to the region – measured in financial terms and intellectual capital.
