Nonprofit and service employers are typically looking for employees who can tackle a range of responsibilities, from fundraising and organizing volunteers to managing expenses. Previous volunteer or internship experiences are strongly encouraged.

Internship opportunities:
Union offers funding for community service summer internships at a variety of organizations, including the AIDS Action Committee, Bethesda House, Boys and Girls Clubs, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Gilda’s Club, Girls, Inc., Habitat for Humanity, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Regional Food Bank and Schenectady Community Action Program. Other opportunities: ALCO Heritage Museum, Center for Disability Services, Family and Child Services of the Capital Region, H-H Hole in the Wall Camp, Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp., Hamilton Hill Arts Center, Schenectady Inner City Ministry
