Why did you choose Union?
As a student athlete, my top priorities were to attend an academically challenging institution, gain a holistic college experience and also play a high level of basketball. Throughout my athletic recruitment and college search processes, I was guided to a school that would stand out in more ways than one. From the friendliness of the people on campus, to the opportunities for involvement and leadership positions in various clubs and organizations, to the incredible professors, I knew I could see myself at Union for the next four years.

How do you describe Union to your friends and family?
I describe Union to my friends and family as my home, and a place that I am so lucky and grateful to be spending my four years. Union is a place for each individual person to create their own narrative, and the endless opportunities outside of the classroom paired with the incredible professors makes it so easy to do so. I also love telling my friends about how many opportunities I have been able to pursue even being a college athlete. Although some of my closest friends are on the team, I have met so many other people through everything else I do. I am often asked if I think Union is too small, and I respond the same way every time: Union is honestly the perfect size because I love walking to my classes and saying hi to 20 different people on my walk, but I will also see someone that I have never seen before.

What has been your favorite class assignment at Union?
My favorite assignment was in a drawing class where we had to draw something at night at Union. After walking around with a classmate and taking pictures of various buildings at night, I chose the library and sat with one of my friends on one of the last warm fall days and drew the building while talking and listening to music.

What is your favorite place off-campus in Schenectady?
Proctors Theater - I had the chance to see “Phantom of the Opera” there with one of my friends and also had the opportunity to tour it when I did Pre-Orientation. I am still blown away by the beauty of it.
