Why did you choose Union?
Visiting other schools, I looked around and heard the tour guide talk about school spirit. But, when I visited Union, the tour guide did not need to tell me that there was school spirit, I saw it. I felt how tight-knit students were and I immediately felt welcome here.
How do you describe Union to your friends and family?
Physically, it is the educational institution where I am pursuing my degree in engineering. Symbolically, Union is an opportunity. The opportunity to get a quality education to prepare me for a career, and to be part of a vast network of alumni that can support me during and after my time at Union. It is also the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and grow as a person. Union is preparing me with skills needed to succeed in the world outside of campus - the ability to communicate with others and to get my ideas across.
What has been your favorite class assignment at Union?
Going to an international conference in New York City with Professor Seri’s Model United Nations class. Displaying diplomacy, developing public speaking abilities, and enhancing research skills is an experience I will not forget.
What is your favorite place off-campus in Schenectady?
A place where my friends and I like to go out and eat dinner sometimes is Perecca’s. As a big fan of Italian restaurants, you can never really go wrong here. It’s also a great place for you and your parents to have a nice meal.
