Why did you choose Union?
As soon as I started researching Union College, I was very drawn to its strong sense of community and strive for excellence. The very low student to faculty ratio and the distinguished alumni base also convinced me that Union would be the right place for me. After doing my own research, I spoke to several students who were attending Union and they echoed these wonderful facts, which helped me finalize my decision.

How do you describe Union to your friends and family?
I always describe Union College as a melting pot of ideas, passions, majors and personalities. I genuinely feel like Union has something for everyone. It is an extremely lively campus, where there is always an event or activity that one can get involved in. On the academic front, I always mention how challenging and intellectually stimulating all the courses I have taken are. But at the same time, the faculty are very helpful.

What has been your favorite class assignment at Union?
For my “Introduction to Sociology” class, I had to pick a sociological aspect from a TV show, write a paper about it and present it in a group. We chose “The Queen’s Gambit” and it was great to explore the TV show with an academic lens.

What is your favorite place off-campus in Schenectady?
Proctors Theatre - I absolutely love all the musicals that I’ve seen there.
