Regions: Canada, New Jersey (Bergen County), New York (central and eastern, excluding Long Island and New York City)
I travel to many parts of New York, including the Northern Tier, Capital Region, Hudson Valley, and Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties. I also cover Bergen County, N.J., and Canada. What I impress upon prospective students and their families is that Union is a close-knit community. I felt that immediately when I first stepped on campus when looking at colleges. Because I loved and valued my time here as a student, I wanted the opportunity to help other students make good choices.
My favorite spot on campus is the third floor of Schaffer Library; you can look down and see all the books and people. It’s a great place to study or read. I spent a lot of time doing my senior thesis there. I’m a big fan of our men’s and women’s hockey. So many people show up at Messa Rink to root for our teams. It illustrates how everyone in the Union community tries to support one another in their endeavors. The crowds are also a good combination of people from the College and the local community, which means the students and visitors really get a chance to interact.
When I’m not traveling for Union or having fun at a hockey game, I love international travel, particularly to Paris. I first visited the city while on my term abroad in Rennes, France. I especially enjoy the Picasso museum; the architecture is as wonderful as the artwork. In Paris, I can use the skills I learned in the classroom on a big scale.
