Why I chose Union:
I was drawn to Union’s emphasis on undergraduate research, as well as its interdisciplinary nature.
Mini-term in Bali, Indonesia and term abroad in Galway, Ireland
Hudson River Museum, Schenectady Historical Society, Museum of Innovation and Science, and the New York Historical Society
It's too hard to choose just one! My favorite professors on campus are Professor Ogawa and Professor Cox from the Visual Arts department, and Professor Lawson from the History department. All three of these professors have not only served as excellent instructors for me during my time here at Union, but they are also my mentors. They are all always willing to meet with me and have inspired me to challenge myself academically and professionally.
My favorite class was “19th Century European Art” with Professor Ogawa. Over the course of the term, we each developed a research paper focused on a specific artist, and I selected to study Berthe Morisot. I enjoyed getting to conduct high level research at an undergraduate level and work one-on-one with my professor to revise my paper numerous times. I have since presented the paper I wrote in this class at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Favorite place on campus:
The Nott Memorial is my absolute favorite place on campus. Whether I am hearing a speaker on the first floor, taking in an exhibit on the second floor, or writing a paper on the third floor, I am always astounded by the beauty of the architecture. I have studied abroad and seen amazing buildings in Paris, Barcelona, Rome and more, but I still think that the Nott Memorial is the most breathtaking structure of them all!
Favorite local restaurant:
There are so many that I love. My favorites are Pinhead Susan’s, Mr. Wasabi, and Café Nola.
Favorite food on campus:
O3 salads with extra falafel
