Her course offerings cover a range of Greek and Roman history and literature, and include Ancient Medicine, Ancient Astronomy, and the History of the Book.

Bio

Prof. Winters' research is rewriting the history of ancient mathematics to show that Greek mathematicians worked in various distinct traditions of practice, contrary to the accepted model of a standard Euclidean methodology. She has worked with the Vatican manuscript library identifying unknown scientific texts and has taught for a study abroad program in Greece. Before becoming a classicist, she worked as a physicist in heavy ions research and taught physics at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee.
