Bio
Prof. Winters' research is rewriting the history of ancient mathematics to show that Greek mathematicians worked in various distinct traditions of practice, contrary to the accepted model of a standard Euclidean methodology. She has worked with the Vatican manuscript library identifying unknown scientific texts and has taught for a study abroad program in Greece. Before becoming a classicist, she worked as a physicist in heavy ions research and taught physics at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee.
