Research interests

Her research focuses on intellectual history, in particular, how the ancients endeavored to explain and control the world around them. She has published articles on Greek and Roman mythology, magic, medicine, and timekeeping, and teaches courses on these topics.

Current research

Currently, she is co-editing a multi-authored volume on “short time” in the ancient Mediterranean, and preparing a monograph titled A Doctor on the Clock: Hourly Timekeeping and Galen’s Scientific Method.
