Applying for General Education Designation

Please bear with us as we transition into the new General Education Curriculum. We are aware that filling out separate forms for General Education approval is not ideal and are working to streamline the process as quickly as possible.

Areas of Inquiry and Perspectives

Before you begin filling out the application, take a moment familiarize yourself with descriptions of the new Areas of Inquiry and Perspectives as well as the expected learning outcomes for your course. Descriptions can be found HERE or downloaded in PDF format Descriptions and Learning Outcomes (PDF).

Existing Courses: Application For The New General Education Designations

Existing courses should apply for approval under the new General Education Curriculum using this form:

Common Curriculum Descriptions & Learning Outcomes

New and One-Time Courses

Applicants for new and one-time course offerings seeking General Education approval must first complete the Course Proposal Form for new and one-time courses. This application will also allow you to apply for General Education approval under the old guidelines.

After completing the Course Proposal Form for new and one-time courses, you will then need to fill out the General Education Approval Form.
