INAUGURATION OF DAVID R. HARRIS

Delegate information

We are honored to welcome delegates from various colleges, universities, and learned societies to Union College on September 7 & 8, for the inauguration of David R. Harris as our 19th president. As you prepare to join us for this special event, the below information may be helpful.

Parking

Designated parking areas will be available to our delegates. Campus Safety personnel will be there to direct you once you are on campus. Accessible parking is available for those who need it.

Check-in and brunch

Delegates are invited to check in, drop off their regalia and join us for brunch at Old Chapel. After brunch, there will be plenty of staff available to assist with regalia when the time comes.

Academic attire

All delegates and faculty in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire. If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing so that they may provide you with the necessary academic regalia. A secure room will be available for robing and for storing your personal belongings during the ceremony. 

Academic procession

Delegates will assemble outside of Old Chapel once robed. We will have stanchions and staff in place to ensure the proper lineup. The processional line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m., the procession will begin at 12:45 p.m.

Greeting

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, we invite all guests to join us in the Nott Memorial for a brief greeting with the president.

Garden Gala

All guests are welcome to join us in the evening for the Garden Gala celebrating the inauguration of President Harris.
