India is Head of the Special Collections & Archives, She is responsible for directing and managing the department's unique collections, including the rare book collections, manuscripts, photographs, ephemera and the College’s institutional records, dating from 1795. India coordinates with Union faculty and the community to exhibit and promote the archival and special collections. She also curates rare books and collaborates with her colleagues on digital projects and scholarly communication.

Before coming to Union College in 2014, she worked at the University of Arizona’s Special Collections & Archives in Tucson, Arizona and at Harvard University in Massachusetts. She earned her B.A. in U.S. History from the University of Alaska (her home state), MLIS from UC Berkeley, and M.A. in Museums Studies from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. She is a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists and serves on several steering committees for the Society of American Archivists. India enjoys walking in the woods with her husband Alex and their dog Beau.
