Technological historian George Dyson, a Phi Beta Kappa scholar visiting Union, will speak 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 23 in the Nott Memorial.
His talk is titled “Artificial Intelligence: From Analog to Digital and Back.” The lecture is free and open to the public.
After the lecture, Wold House will host a Dinner and Discussion event with Dyson, which is open to all members of the Union community. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Lynn Evans at evansl@union.edu.
Earlier Tuesday, Dyson will also speak at the History Department’s History for U Speaker Series during Common Hour in Karp 105. His talk is titled “The First Five Kilobytes are the Hardest: A Creation Myth.”
Dyson’s visit is supported by Phi Beta Kappa, Union’s chapter of PBK, the Computer Science and History departments and the Science, Medicine and Technology in Culture program.
