Making his debut this season, new Music Director Conrad Chu leads the community ensemble in an afternoon of Brahms and Verdi.
Union College and Community Orchestra opens its 2018-19 season with a concert celebrating the splendors of fall. We perform a great, autumnal classic by Brahms, the bittersweet and nostalgic Second Symphony. Guaranteed to delight the soul with warm, poignantly reflective melodies. To kick things off, we offer a rousing and red-blooded overture from Verdi's early opera Nabucco. This concert marks the debut of our new music director, Conrad Chu, who is a seasoned orchestra and opera conductor from New York, with credits at companies like Gotham Chamber Opera, Bronx Opera Company, American Opera Projects, and Victory Hall Opera.
The concert will perform in Memorial Chapel, and is free and open to the public. For over twenty years, UCCO has been one of the College's leading groups dedicated to bringing students and members of the community closer by sharing talents in performance.
