Find our Mothers: The Camera as Feminist Technology

Speaker: Lori Marso, Professor of Political Science

Part of a new book project that explores feminist film and other ways of visualizing feminist futures, Prof. Marso will discuss camera work by the late avant-garde director Chantal Akerman. Hoisting her camera, Akerman searches for mothers in several of her films, knowing full well that she risks reinforcing patriarchal identities of mother, daughter, sister, wife.
