Today's New Trade Wars

February 5, 2019 2:00 PM–4:00 PM

Speaker: Bradley G. Lewis, Professor of Economics, Union College

"Today's new 'trade wars': aberration or reappearance of a hardy perennial?" Professor Lewis guides us through international trade issues that are very much in the news these days. The varied issues include determination (and manipulation?) of international exchange rates, technology transfer, intellectual property, forms of trade barriers, and misunderstanding of what the balance of payments does and does not indicate.
