Free and open to the public — Union College & Community Orchestra presents French Kiss — A Festival of French Masterworks — UCCO presents a gala salute to all things we love about France. It’s a winter ‘ratatouille’ surveying great French composers of the late 19th century to early 20th, cutting a broad swath through music history, from charming romantic ballets to the early Parisian avant-garde. A highlight of the program will be a recreation of the historic Parade by Erik Satie, one of the most notorious pieces of music ever performed in modern times. Other composers featured include classic favorites by Bizet, Delibes, Dukas and Duruflé. With a guest appearance by the Union College Chorale singing standards from the French choral repertoire.
