Emily McRae is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of New Mexico, and an alumna of Union College (2003). A specialist in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, ethics, moral psychology, and feminism, Prof. McRae's work examines the role of the emotions and contemplative practices in moral development. She is the co-translator (with Jay Garfield) of Patrul Rinpoche’s Essential Jewel of Holy Practice (Wisdom, 2017), and her scholarly articles have appeared in a wide range of journals and edited volumes, including Philosophy East and West, the Journal of Buddhist Philosophy, History of Philosophy Quarterly, and the Oxford Handbook of Buddhist Ethics.
