Interested in using maps to tell stories? Want to present your research visually using a map to organize and show your data? StoryMap JS is a popular platform for visualizing and presenting spatial stories from Northwestern University’s Knight Lab. Using a map or image as a base layer, the user crafts a narrative by overlaying text annotations and images and connecting them to spatial locations to guide the viewer along. In this workshop, you will learn how a presentation is planned and created using the StoryMap program. We will walk through the design process and cover how information and media are added to a StoryMaps environment and linked together to present a story told across space.
