Law aims to give more accurate tally of college costs

A new federal rule that requires colleges to post net-price calculators on their Web sites, showing the cost of attendance and an estimate of what a family would actually pay after financial aid, goes into effect this month. Linda Parker, director of financial aid, was included in a front page story in USA Today about the benefits of the calculator for schools like Union. The College has used a net-price calculator since January.
