New tool will give clearer picture on college cost

A new federal rule that requires colleges to post net-price calculators on their Web sites, showing the cost of attendance and an estimate of what a family would actually pay after financial aid, goes into effect this month. Linda Parker, director of financial aid, spoke to the Associated Press about the benefits of the calculator for schools like Union. The College has used a net-price calculator since January.

The AP story has appeared in dozens of media outlets, including ABC News, New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Huffington Post.
