Salutatorian Megan E. Mancuso

Hometown: Framingham, Mass.

Major: Bioengineering

Activities: Sigma Delta Tau sorority; chapter vice president of the Biomedical Engineering Society; Writing Center tutor; Engineering Ambassadors member; chapter vice president of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society, and Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society

Favorite class: My Scholar’s Project with Professor Jennifer Currey in the Mechanobiology Lab. This project sparked my interest in academic research, culminating in a senior project on the mechanobiology of fracture healing and inspiring me to pursue a career in biomechanics research.

What I'll miss most: The sense of community we share as Union students and the lifelong friendships I’ve made, especially through Greek life

Advice for incoming students: Find a professor you work well with and admire. A great mentor will enhance your time at Union and open doors for your future.

Life after Union: I will be pursuing my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute as part of the NSF IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education & Research Traineeship) program.
