Union makes history on #ADAY4U
The third annual #ADAY4U was a record-breaking success thanks to the entire Union community. The goal was to reach 1,795 donors to unlock $406,000 from Union trustees, and more than 2,200 donors gave to Union Wednesday.
The 24-hour challenge yielded over $1.09 million to the College's Annual Fund.
“This was an extraordinary show of support and the a real vote of confidence in the quality of the Union education,” said Terri Cerveny, vice president of College Relations. "We are grateful for the many who rallied for Union. This is a proud moment for the College."
Of the over 2,200 donors, 65 percent were alumni, 11 percent were parents, 5 percent were faculty and staff, 4 percent were students and another 3 percent were friends of the College. Donations poured in from 44 states, and countless volunteers made phone calls, posted to their social media networks and advocated on Union’s behalf.
The top alumni classes in total donors were: 2003, 2014, 1988, 1992 and 2010.
On campus, students were treated to a sundae bar and student-athletes from 17 teams called former players to help the College reach its goal.
