Learned Ladies

The Department of Theater and Dance are putting on a production of Moliere’s “The Learned Ladies” from May 24 to May 27 at 7:30 p.m. and May 28 at 2 p.m. in Yulman Theatre.

Directed by Patricia Culbert, the whimsical and entertaining play takes place in a cartoonish world turned “topsy-turvy in the pursuit of higher learning” with fabulous costumes and an extravagant set created by Charles Steckler. Through witty dialogue and comical actions, Moliere makes an argument for truth, love and a life lived simply. This satire on academic pretension, female education, and preciousness is one of Moliere’s most popular comedies.

The cast includes: Michael Doherty ’17, Etienne-Marcel Giannelli ’20, Abigail-Mary Lehner ’18, James Basuk ’17, Alyssa Silbey ’20, Jordan Isaacs ’19, Christina Belforti ’17, Mikayla Carhart ’20, Alexandra Wood ’17, Zachary Brum ’20, Matthew Dulchinos ’20 and Richard Ward ’18.

Tickets can be reserved by calling the Box Office at (518) 388-6545. General admission is $10, while Union students, faculty, and staff are $7.
