Union Where You Are: Plans for 2020-21

[Faculty & Staff] Vaccine distribution program - new eligibility

Publication Date

Dear Colleagues,

New York State has issued new and immediate guidance regarding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Governor announced earlier today that New York will follow the CDC’s newest guidance that those over 65 and immunocompromised individuals should now be eligible for vaccination. It is not immediately clear what constitutes “immunocompromised.” State officials are seeking additional guidance from the federal government. People 65 and older are currently eligible to make an appointment to be vaccinated utilizing this form. To assist you with immunity and keep other members of the Union community safe, we highly recommend that all employees who are eligible for the vaccine go to the website and sign up.

This new information is in addition to the phases of eligibility we shared yesterday, which you can see here: https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/phased-distribution-vaccine.

As this information continues to evolve and change rapidly, we will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available.

Best,

Beth R. Glassman
Interim Chief Human Resources Officer
