COVID-19 Updates

Paid Vaccine Time

Publication Date

Good Afternoon,

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has signed legislation allowing employees paid time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Employees will be provided with paid time off for a sufficient time period to get the vaccine, which is up to four hours per injection.

As a result of this new law, we have added new time off codes. Employees taking time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, should report their time in the following manner:

1. Timesheet submittals use the following CTO codes:

  • 3205 Regular Full Time Employee
  • 3206 Temporary Employee
  • 3207 Student Employee

2. Kronos users

  • Request time off using the appropriate ‘COVID-19 Vaccination’ pay code
  • Same process used for Vacation and Personal Business requests

Prior to taking the time off, please speak with your supervisor/manager so they are aware of your appointment time, location and how much time off you think is needed so they can approve your time off request. Please note this law only affects vaccine appointments March 12, 2021 or later and does not apply to appointments prior to this date.
