COVID-19 Updates

Changes to today’s vaccination clinic

Publication Date

Dear Students,

Earlier this morning, the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control recommended a pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine out of an abundance of caution. Consistent with this guidance, Union College will not administer doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine until further notice.

The College is in receipt of doses of the Moderna vaccine. Students registered for today’s appointments will receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. We are actively working with Schenectady County Public Health Services to secure additional doses this week. We will follow up with students who have appointments scheduled for tomorrow with additional information.

While there is no action required for individuals who have already received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the College will follow up with those students with any additional information we receive from public health officials

Despite today’s news, we continue to encourage all members of the Union College community to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Please pursue opportunities to receive a Moderna or Pfizer vaccination at Union or at one of many other locations.
