  • We announced last week that effective July 1, will require all continuing and incoming students to be vaccinated for COVID-19 before engaging with campus. We also shared our expectation that our employees should be vaccinated. We will be working through additional protocols and requirements for employees for fall, including a likely requirement for employees to be vaccinated. We continue to receive guidance from government entities and health experts and will update our policies and the community as information evolves.
  • CDC updates - Yesterday the CDC introduced new guidance regarding masking and social distancing for fully vaccinated individuals. We are reviewing this announcement and will update the campus community when there are any changes to our campus health and safety protocols.
  • Testing Center Schedule Reminder - As a reminder the testing center has transitioned to testing two days a week: Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Testing hours will remain 8:30 a.m. - noon and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. All students and employees on a weekly testing schedule who are not fully vaccinated must continue to test.

The seven-day positivity rate in Schenectady County is 1.6 percent.

Our dining team has done a tremendous job this year navigating COVID-19 and providing special pop-up events that our community loves. Wednesday night, under a beautiful sky, our dining team kept a Union tradition going strong celebrating Lobsterfest. Keeping this spring tradition was important to our students and another sign that there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Vaccines are now widely available across the region. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, please do so and upload your records to emocha after each shot.
