As of May 3, 56 percent of employees and 37 percent of students have reported being fully vaccinated via emocha. For more details, see our vaccination dashboard on the COVID-19 Dashboard page.

  • Campus Mask Policy Clarification
    • Masks must continue to be worn in all indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status. That includes, hallways, classrooms, lobbies, etc. Fully vaccinated individuals can only remove their masks when in small groups in private settings such as residence hall rooms and private offices.
  • Athletics - Mask Update
    • Students who are participating in intercollegiate athletics may be approved to temporarily forego wearing masks during competition for certain events or for competitions where the exertion or respiration rates are so high that face masks could present a greater risk than benefit. These include certain events and competitions that require continuous high exertion rates from participants, or potentially all outdoor sports on a day when the temperature and humidity combine to create severe conditions. The head athletic trainer is authorized on the day of competition to determine if a team or certain athletes are approved to forego mask use. All student-athletes will be required to resume mask use on the sidelines and in dugouts while not in active competition.
  • Testing Center Schedule Reminder - As a reminder the testing center has transitioned to testing two days a week: Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Testing hours will remain 8:30 a.m. - noon and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. All students and employees on a weekly testing schedule who are not fully vaccinated must continue to test.

The seven-day positivity rate in Schenectady County is 1.7 percent.

Congratulations to Admissions and Financial Aid!
Monday was the final deposit date for our incoming students. Congratulations to the Admissions and Financial Aid teams on welcoming the newest members of Union College - the Class of 2025, with more than 570 deposits to date. We also want to thank those of you who helped with our recruiting efforts during this difficult year. It truly takes a village. And, while it’s hard to capture every detail, we want you to know that your efforts have had a positive impact. We invite you to hear how members of our community describe their year. We know these meaningful experiences made a big difference for our current students and provided an opportunity for our incoming students to see how we came together as a community. Thank you for making Union a special place.

Vaccines are now widely available across the region. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, please do so and upload your records to emocha after each shot.
