COVID-19 Updates

REMINDER: COVID-19 testing offered Tuesday

Publication Date

Dear Union colleagues:

As a reminder, voluntary COVID-19 testing will be offered again this week on Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Testing will take place at Hale House/Old Chapel.

Those who wish to get tested should enter through Old Chapel and exit through Hale House. While testing is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged for employees who are currently engaged in significant work activity on campus this month.

Additionally, we have received some questions from employees regarding how to record their time off should they experience symptoms after receiving their COVID-19 booster. According to Human Resources, employees who need to stay home due to symptoms resulting from their COVID-19 booster should use regular sick time for any hours missed.

Employees who need to take time off during work hours to receive a booster may be eligible for a limited amount of vaccination pay to cover the time lost. Anyone who has a question regarding vaccination pay – or any other COVID-related HR matter - should contact Bonnie Mortensen-Szczerba (mortensb@union.edu) or Gwen Pulvirent (pulvireg@union.edu) in Human Resources.

Thanks to everyone for doing their part to keep the Union community healthy.

Sincerely,

Mark Land

Vice President of Communications and Marketing
