JOB SUMMARY:

The Account Coordinator serves to provide day-to-day support to the account retention team for commercial accounts. Specific responsibilities include: proposal preparation; rate quote preparation / preparation of renewal paperwork; resolution of HBA issues through problem solving and coordination with other departments; in-depth interaction with brokers, consultants and their support staff; cultivating customer relationships (usually with day-to-day benefits staff within employer groups); employee packet preparation; and other duties as needed. This position will have extensive interaction with external customers, sales and marketing staff and MVP’s operational departments including but not limited to Actuarial and Underwriting, Enrollment, Group Set Up, and Member Services. Strong relationship and communication skills are required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
BA degree in marketing, communications or business

Minimum Experience: 

Two years in customer service or sales environment within a managed care, health insurance company, or brokerage agency. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills:
• Must possess, or obtain within 60 days from date of hire, New York State Insurance License in life, accident, and health.
• Must obtain the MVP Medicare Certification Training within 60 days from date of hire, or prior to first sale, whichever comes first.
• Valid drivers’ license and access to vehicle. Frequent travel within MVP’s service area.
• Excellent analytical skill, strong motivation and excellent communication skills are required.
• Solid computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access.
• Neat, well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Good organizational and time management skills; good problem-solving skills and attention to detail a must.
