AIDS Program Manager I

The AIDS Program Manager I has responsibilities related to the Maternal/Pediatric HIV Prevention and Care Program, and quality management in the Division of HIV and Hepatitis Health Care.  The AIDS Program Manager I is responsible for policy formulation; program planning; developing strategies and overseeing key quality improvement (QI) activities and projects; evaluation of Division programs; supervision of staff; representing the AIDS Institute (AI) in a variety of forums; the provision of technical assistance to providers; and other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.  


​Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years’ experience in the direction and management of a public health, health/human services, health regulatory program or community-based service organization; OR nine years of such experience. The years of experience must have included: program planning and implementation; and allocation of resources. At least three years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

NP or PA; or RN with a Master’s degree (MPH, MPA, MA). Experience in/knowledge of maternal/pediatric HIV prevention and health care services/programs. Five years’ clinical experience related to HIV. At least 2 years’ relevant experience in/knowledge of quality management/quality improvement, preferably related to HIV services. Experience with/knowledge of the HIV service delivery system in New York State.
