Description:

This position will be responsible for the administration and support of assigned vendor and custom applications in all the environments where those applications are installed. This position is also responsible for the oversight of the environment management processes. Installs and performs daily administration of multiple applications. Troubleshoots issues and responsible for maintaining to SLA’s for any of the assigned applications in all environments. Works closely with Vendor technical support staff when necessary, to ensure that technical issues are resolved as quickly as possible. Participates in the coordination of upgrades and patches for all assigned applications in all environments. Participates in configuration of assigned applications in all environments to meet business and/or IT needs. Responsible for the oversight of environment management processes and supporting applications: Maintains environment management policies and procedures, Works with department personnel to plan and coordinate test environment projects and maintenance activities, including providing timely and accurate communications, Provides primary support for source code and deployment applications. Maintains technical documentation related to any assigned vendor or custom application. Participates in the creation and maintenance of standards, policies, procedures, and documentation regarding application build processes, security, and disaster recovery. Assists with the documentation and development of best practice standards and operating procedures to support multi-server, multi-environment applications, which includes, but is not limited to: Analysis of current applications, Analysis of current application delivery, Impacts on business user experience, Improvement in efficiencies or cost reductions, Support for disaster recovery planning and testing, Contribute information to problem solving areas (FAQs, etc.) by writing and reviewing publishable problems and solutions. Provides support to all technology teams as needed for any aspects of the systems development life cycle (Information Technology project framework), including: Supports / participates in Technical and Solution Design process as required. Supports Testers for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Integrated Testing (SIT) by clarifying any requirements questions or helping to resolve any administration related defects. Collaborates with team members to provide estimates and establish milestones and schedules. Assesses potential work and develops time/effort estimates as requested. Participates in architectural planning and design, as well as supporting the delivery of server based applications to support business initiatives. Participates in application software implementation/ conversion/enhancement project teams. In partnership with Infrastructure and Application Architects, assists with development of long-term strategic Road Map for application services. Participates in application capacity planning, monitoring software license compliance, and monitoring server workload/performance as needed. Automating all tasks related to application administration that can be automated. Trains additional department personnel to serve as support backup any assigned applications. Communicates new application or system functionality to end users for those assigned. Maintains application or system security policies for those assigned. May prepare estimates and coordinate efforts of other needed resources on specific projects related to assigned applications. Works closely with Service Desk to communicate any application issues and restoration notices to the end users in a timely manner. Acts as a technical resource for department Operations. Interacts with business users to diagnose problems, clarify and document requirements, and advise on system use for assigned applications. Confers with manager on problems and symptoms. Involved with review of Architectural Requirements Document, and works with the Architect as needed. May co-author any needed Technical Design documentation if needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues as they exist and change from time to time. Provide support outside of core business hours when necessary for any assigned applications. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education with related experience in a system administrator/application administrator role may be considered.

Minimum Experience: 

Experience with application administration with commercial software Experience with systems analysis and design techniques Proven experience writing automation scripts using various tools and programing languages  Expertise with the Microsoft suite of tools including Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio Health Insurance experience preferred.
