Connecticut College is conducting a regional search for an Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Operations. Reporting to the Director of Employer Relations, the Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Operations will manage Connecticut College’s, College Internship Program, as well as serve as an integral support role to building and engaging relationships with employers, facilitate logistics for events and activities, serve as the expert and vendor liaison for the school’s career management system CamelLink and oversee data collection and reporting activities.

Responsibilities 

The Assistant Director will oversee the College Internship Program initiative that serves approximately 300 students each year, with a budget of $800K; manage the day-to-day operations of the career services engagement tool and employment database CamelLink; research and review employer approvals and job/internship postings; and collect and report career office metrics including employer relations and first destinations data.  The Assistant Director will also support the Director of Employer Relations in all aspects of the on-campus recruiting program, including scheduling employer information sessions and on-campus interviews; organizing and ensuring staffing for all employer information sessions, employer stewardship and follow-up; support the cultivation of alumni and parent relationships, planning and implementing employer site visits, and identifying potential talent pipelines for CC students; manage volunteer Office Hours program that fosters student to alumni/parent relationships over career-related conversations; oversee office operations: Human Resource Administration (payroll, benefits), office supplies inventory/purchasing and physical plant issues and manage work-study students as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years’ professional experience in career services, human resources or a related field required, 5 years of experience in career services, hiring/recruiting, human resources, career services or higher education preferred.  Previous experience managing large scale projects effectively and efficiently; demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate professional relationships with external constituencies (alumni, parents, internship sponsors and employers.); proven attention to detail, data collection, reporting and budget management expertise; excellent customer service and written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational and project-management skills; advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel; experience with database management systems and a demonstrated ability to work with and advise diverse college-age student population.  Computer skills including proficiency with Google Apps, Social Media, and online career-related resources; familiarity with career services management platforms such as Symplicity, Handshake, or GradLeaders are highly desirable and knowledge of OPT/CPT and hiring practices for international students preferred.
