The Assistant Health Program Administrator (AHPA) has a wide range of responsibilities associated with the administrative and fiscal support of grants awards involving multiple organizations and programs within the Department of Health. The AHPA assists with coordinating annual grant reports; this includes detailed tracking of a large volume of documents and their status in the review process, compiling information for budget development and preparing required forms. The AHPA is responsible for budget and contract monitoring and the work-flow associated with processing and tracking grant related transactions. The individual implements and maintains tracking systems, implements and monitors internal controls, and develops and maintains procedures for major tasks performed in the office. The AHPA performs monthly reconciliation of grant funding, monitors balances and deviations, resolves issues and follows up on all transactions processed through to payment. The AHPA prepares contract agreements and processes vouchers for payment, resolves issues/problems, and assists with monitoring contractor performance. The AHPA trains and mentors other staff and provides technical assistance to program area staff with regard to proper forms and procedures. The AHPA analyzes data and prepares correspondence and reports. 

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of administrative, financial and/or other related experience; OR an Associate's degree and three years of such experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of such experience. A Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with grant funding; budget management; processing contracts; personnel recruitments; purchasing. Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in MS Word and advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
