Associate Director of Utilities and Engineering

The Associate Director of Utilities and Engineering will plan, organize, and lead the production, purchasing, and distribution of utilities to maximize reliability and minimize costs.  The successful candidate will lead a staff of 13, directing the utility, life safety and engineering services for 160 buildings, 4.4 million gross square feet on 3 campuses, which include a 69/12KV substation (12 MW peak), 12kV/4kV distribution, two central heating and refrigeration plants and Siemens and Honeywell building automation systems.  The Associate Director will also be responsible for a $5M annual utility budgets and regulatory compliance: OSHA, PA DEP, Title V, NPDES, UST's, IAQ.


  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
  2. Professional Engineer License is required
  3. Eight or more years related work experience
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of NYMEX fuel markets; hedging; risk derivatives; accounting
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Excellent writing ability and organizational skills
  7. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  8. Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  9. Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
  10. Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
