wanted to share with your community?
 
The Arts Center of the Capital Region is interested in talented, imaginative, and collaborative artists who want to become a part of our diverse artistic family.
No teaching experience? No problem!
Our Education Department can assist you in class curricula, project development, and teaching abilities to successfully share your creative ideas with the Capital Region!

Woodworking Instructor
We're hiring woodworking instructors to teach courses in basic, intermediate, and advanced woodworking classes. We are also looking for new ideas that go beyond traditional woodworking such as wood carving, toy building, or sculptural work.
Qualifications 

Basic woodworking and fabrication skills
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
Basic woodworking equipment safety procedures
Ability to work with students of all ages

Digital Arts Instructor
We're hiring digital art instructors to teach courses with a concentration in Adobe Creative Cloud, photography, game design, film-making, music production, and digital drawing. Instructors will be provided with our digital lab resources such as thirteen OSX computer workstations, iPads, DSLR camera's, Wacom boards, and midi keyboards to bring your ideas to life.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro
Ability to use and maintain OS X operating systems
Ability to work with students of all ages

Culinary Instructor
We're hiring culinary instructors to teach courses with a concentration in food preparation, baking, small plates, desserts, soups, meat/poultry, comfort food, vegetarian, and vegan cuisine. Our teaching kitchen is a great space that will provide you with the tools necessary to teach students new skills and ideas within the culinary arts.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, skills and tools
Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures
Ability to work with students of all ages

Ceramic Instructor
We're hiring ceramic instructors to teach courses with a concentration in wheel throwing, hand building, glaze mixing, and contemporary ceramic sculpture.  Instructors will utilize our large-scale pottery studio to provide students with the skills and techniques within the ceramic arts.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic ceramic techniques, skills, tools and equipment
Knowledge of electric kiln equipment is required
Ability to work with students of all ages

Stained Glass Instructor
We're hiring stained glass instructors to teach courses with a concentration in lampworking, panel creation, mosaic design, and ornamental stained glass. Instructors will utilize our stained glass studio equipment and resources to teach students the skills to create beautiful pieces of art.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic stained glass techniques, skills, tools and equipment
Basic knowledge of stained glass safety and procedures
Ability to work with students of all ages

Jewelry & Metalworking Instructor
We're hiring jewelry instructors to teach courses with a concentration in wedding bands, necklaces, bracelets, wire wrapping, woven metal, and contemporary sculptural pieces. Utilizing our jewelry studio and equipment, instructors will have the opportunity to teach students the skills necessary to make successful pieces of wearable art.
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic jeweler & metalworking techniques, skills, tools and equipment
Basic knowledge of jewelry & metalworking safety and procedures
Ability to work with students of all ages

Special Needs Instructor
We're hiring special needs instructors to teach courses with a concentration in painting/drawing, photography, pottery, dance/movement, and mixed-media. Instructors are responsible for providing a safe work environment for students, creation of course curriculums and projects.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with special needs children and adults
Basic knowledge of tools, techniques, and art studio equipment
Ability to create and complete class projects

Pottery Studio Manager
We're hiring a pottery studio manager for our growing ceramics department.  The studio manager is responsible for maintaining, organizing, scheduling, and communicating important information to current students, staff, and volunteers.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in a ceramics studio setting
Advanced knowledge of ceramic studio tools, supplies and equipment maintenance
Knowledge of recycling clay, glaze mixing, and electric kiln procedures
Well versed in written and verbal communication
Ability to lift over 50 lbs
Necessary Functions
Maintaining a pleasant demeanor with an ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining the ceramic studio
Responsibilities are often carried out simultaneously, so the ability to multitask is necessary
Utilize leadership qualities to effectively complete tasks
Other related duties, as may be assigned
